The following is the second part of Mirjana’s talk on November 4, 2009 where she answered questions that the pilgrims present asked her.
Question: I have two children that were born and raised Catholic. They still go to church, but not the Catholic Church.
Mirjana: I can say, only repeat what Our Lady has said to me. When She gave me a mission to pray for unbelievers, my question was, who are unbelievers. She said all those who do not feel church as their home or God as their Father. Those are unbelievers. That is all I can tell you
Question: Has Our Lady ever said why the evil one has been given so much power in this last century?
Mirjana: I don’t think that way. I think evil is as powerful as we allow him, because if we have God, Jesus, Our Lady in the first place in our hearts, evil cannot do anything to us. Because God is always stronger, and evil was always below Our Lady’s feet, so I never talk about it because I do not want to give him any importance. Evil has power as much as we allow him.
Question: How did you receive Our Lady’s message? Did She speak, can you hear Her voice or a different way? And can you describe the way Our Lady looks?
Mirjana: Our Lady says the message to me in words, in my language, because when the apparitions started we were children. We were able to speak only Croatian. If She wanted us to understand Her, She simply had to speak in Croatian. I can see Her the same as I can see you now. In front of me, I see a Woman in a long gray dress, who is always about two feet above the ground. It is hard for me to say how tall She is because I am kneeling. I see that She is a little taller than me. She has dark hair and it is long because you can see Her heir below Her veil, on Her forehead and behind, that means it is long. She has blue eyes, and She is more than beautiful. It is impossible to describe the beauty that is shining out of Her face. As children at that time, we asked Her a childish question. We said, “How come you are so beautiful?” She smiled at us and said, “I am beautiful because I love.” Then She said that if you desire to be that beautiful then simply love. At that time, Jakov was only 9 ½ or maybe 10 years old. So when Our Lady left, he said, “I think that She was not saying the truth.” We said, “How do you dare to say that our Heavenly Mother is not saying the truth?” He said, “Yes, but look at us visionaries, some of us can love until the end of our lives but will never be as beautiful as She says.” Because he did not understand what kind of beauty Our Lady was speaking. Now he is 38 years old, and even today he does not understand many things. (laughter) I hope he didn’t hear me.
Question: You cried during the apparition, is there a concern or are you at liberty to say?
Mirjana: I do not know what is happening during the apparition, because during the apparition I do not feel my body. There were many doctors, commissions that were investigating us visionaries. They had all these devices all over us, and their conclusion was that during the apparition our bodies do not react to anything from the outside. We do not feel anything. We do not feel our bodies. So I do not know if I was crying, I can see only after the apparition that I have tears on my face. But that can be from excitement because I cry always – do not look at me. (laughter)
Question: What does Our Lady say about the end times?
Mirjana: Well, the one who dies tomorrow, for that person the end of the world will happen tomorrow. That person will encounter God tomorrow. So it is not important to talk about it at all. It is important to talk about ourselves, to think of myself. What is my soul like? Is it ready to encounter God now, this very moment? I would like to recommend to you do not talk about chastisements, because Our Lady came in Medjugorje to help us and not to destroy us. What She said is, “What I started in Fatima, I will finish in Medjugorje. My heart will triumph.” If our Heavenly Mother’s heart will triumph, what to fear?
Question: In the beginning, when the visionaries were all together having their apparitions, were all of you seeing and being told all the same thing?
Question: Was the seventh secret canceled because of the prayers of the people?
Mirjana: No, it was not canceled. When I received the seventh secret, I asked Our Lady if it was possible that at least one part of that secret could be changed. She said to me, pray. A lot of people for many months prayed. One time when Our Lady came, She said, “This part was changed but do not ever ask again something like that, because God’s Will will be fulfilled.
Question: Is there anything we can do to help or sacrifice for our parents if we feel like they haven’t reached Heaven?
Mirjana: What Our Lady has said to us is to pray for our departed ones and to offer them our Masses. But that doesn’t mean that we go to the rectory, pray for the Masses, and that is done. No, we have to be present at Mass and pray during that Mass for our departed ones and have confidence in God’s love, because only God is the one who will judge. Only He knows where our departed ones are. That is why I do not believe those people who claim that they can speak to the dead ones, that they can help you find out where they are, what they are doing. Those are lies. They are just taking advantage of your pain. Our Lady says pray and offer your Masses, and God is the one who will judge.
Question: I know that you have given us words that Our Lady said about priests. Has She ever spoken to you or given a message to or for priests?
Mirjana: That is a mission given to Ivan. He is the one talking about priests. My mission is unbelievers. It is much easier. (laughter) We have to joke. Our Lady desires that we become an example. What kind of example shall we be to unbelievers if you are always worried, serious, desperate, if we do not have a smile on our face? Only in that way can we be an example. And a smile doesn’t cost you anything, but it gives so much.
Question: Recently there has been a lot of negativity outside of here about Medjugorje, how do we respond to that?
Mirjana: The more negative they write about Medjugorje, the more pilgrims come to Medjugorje. What I would like to recommend to you, do not comment on that – just live Medjugorje. That is what Our Lady desires. That is what She desires us to be – Her apostles.
Question: Other than the Rosary, which is Our Lady’s favorite prayer?
Mirjana: Every prayer that you say with the heart, is an important prayer. Our Lady asks for the Rosary, but if you pray even more, She will not be angry with that.
Question: Besides the example that we offer, is there anything else we can do for the priests to reduce evil in the village and to bring people back to church?
Mirjana: That is our example, the way we live God so that others can see that in ourselves, to come to the point to ask us, “How come you are such?” Then you explain to them, that you have your God, that you do have peace that only Jesus can give you. It is only the prayer that will help us to give a better example. Let me give you an example. When the apparitions in Medjugorje started, as I was the only one not from Medjugorje, because I lived with my parents in Sarajevo, the police forced me to go back to Sarajevo. They simply threw me out of school and I started attending another school. That school had only students who were thrown out of other schools, but because of different reasons, of course. They were stealing, taking drugs, etc. Among such students, I was there as well. One day, one of them who was on drugs all the time, he asked me, “What are you on?” I didn’t understand because I didn’t know anything about drugs. He said, “What do you take, cocaine, heroine?” I said, “I don’t know what you are talking about but why are you asking me?” He said, “Because you have such a peace and you are so happy.” I said to him, “Well, that is Jesus.” Then I was speaking to him about Jesus. That is what Our Lady desires from us, that we make others ask us, that others can see the difference within ourselves.
Question: Have you seen Our Lady crying? If you have, when was that and why was She crying? Can you describe that?
Mirjana: I saw Our Lady rarely crying. I usually see tears in Her eyes and that was because of unbelievers because She knows what will happen to those who do not accept the love of God. She still loves them. She is their Mother. She desires that they all find the right way. She said that She desires to give all of you as a most beautiful bouquet of flowers to my Son. She cannot be happy until we are all part of that bouquet. What does it look like when Our Lady is sad? I can only say that your heart breaks because you know how much She loves us, how much She is ready to do for us, what great love She gives us. When you see tears in those eyes, your heart simply breaks.
Question: I am from Korea. In Korea there are many Buddhists, two times more than Catholics. I see that they are the same – the unbelievers, many kinds of unbelievers there. How can we change the Buddhists in Korea?
Mirjana: First of all, I would like to express my welcome to the priests from Korea. You are truly welcomed. I think that we can do a lot with our prayers and our own examples. Not only you in Korea, all of you who have heard this right now, you always have to remember Korea and the Buddhists in your prayers because people are looking for peace, many times on the wrong sides, on the sides that may give you peace for awhile and then you realize you are nowhere again. But what we are looking for is Jesus. Only He gives you true peace. That is why we will pray for Korea. I do pray for Korea because I do know you have a lot of Buddhists and you are not having an easy time. That is why I pray for you.
Question: I am from India.
Mirjana: Welcome India. Isn’t this beautiful? When we come all the same before Our Mother. I am from India. I am from Korea. I am from America. I am from Ireland. We all have come to look for a Mother, but there is only one Mother. And if there is only one Mother, then all the children are one as well. There are no nations. There is no hatred, only brothers and sisters on earth. Let me give you what would be Medjugorje for me. Once when I was climbing the Cross Mountain, ahead of me there were a group of Italians carrying a handicapped boy in a stretcher on their backs. Those of you who have climbed Cross Mountain know how hard that is. They were carrying that boy with a smile on their faces. Sometime after, a group of Americans passed by and all they said to those people as they passed by was “change.” Then the Americans took that boy. After them, some Germans, then Polish, then I do not remember exactly what was the next nations, but we can say that boy reached the top of the Cross carried by the entire world. None of those people asked, “Who are you? Where do you come from?” They just saw a brother who needed help and they gave it with the heart, without questions, without many words. That would be Medjugorje for me, to see brother in every single person.
Question: This is not a question, it is a request. There is persecution going on of Christians in India. Statues of Mother Mary are destroyed, broken, the Blessed Sacrament is desecrated by Hindu fundamentalists. Priests are killed. Some Christians are injured. They have flown to the forests from the villages because of the attacks on the Christians. Please pray for Catholics in India who are being persecuted because of their faith.
Mirjana: I can understand you and your pain and your suffering because the same things are happening to Catholics in Bosnia, even here churches are destroyed. Catholics are persecuted. That is why those who have had pain can understand pain and I will pray for you. And you pray for us. In that way, we all will be united in prayer.
Question: My question is about children and grandchildren whose parents are unbelievers, the children are not baptized. As grandparents, can we baptize our grandchildren with Holy Water? Is that acceptable?
Mirjana: You definitely need to replace me with someone else. I am just a visionary. I can only tell you what Our Lady said to me. That is a question that you need to ask from a priest, not me. A priest will explain that to you. If I were a grandmother to the grandchildren who are not baptized, I can tell you what I personally would do, not what Our Lady said. I would take my grandchildren to a priest and get them baptized. If their parents, my children, would kill me after that, I would die for God. That is what I would do. This is not what Our Lady has said.
Question: I just wanted to say Mirjana, that I know that your life has not been easy and that you have had great struggles because you have allowed Our Lady to speak through you. But I want you to know that you give us, because of Our Lady, great courage to continue on and to listen and to stop and to take time to take Our Lady’s hand and to go on our own journey.
Mirjana: I thank you because what would I do if you were not here. What would I do if you did not respond to Our Lady’s call? I think that it is all Our Lady’s work. She invites you and helps us to talk. We are all Her children. If you say thank you to me, I say thank you to you because you also said yes. That is why we all have to say only thanks to Dear God because He loves us so much and has been sending us His Mother for so many years to be able to help to understand.
