Our Lady of Medjugorje said on May 2, 2019:

“…When you love the people whom you meet, you are spreading the love of my Son…”

What does it mean to love the people whom you meet?

Medjugorje May 2, 2019 - A river of pilgrims leave Mirjana’s apparition in Medjugorje. Looking in the upper right of the picture, pilgrims can still be seen coming down Apparition Mountain. Thousands being exposed to Our Lady, in turn, exposing others to Our Lady by their experience. Our Lady of Medjugorje said on May 8, 1986: “…The source of grace is here, but you, dear children, are the vessels which transport the gifts…”

What does it mean to love the people whom you meet? Some may think this merely means talking to people about the messages. There will no doubt be varying degrees of interpteting these words of Our Lady, yet, as a Friend of Medjugorje has often said, Our Lady’s words mean exactly what they say. A Friend of Medjugorje has said that the “hiddenness” of Our Lady’s words apply to those who are not “little children” in their hearts. For them, Our Lady’s words are a mystery, something to be explained away by calling them “too simple”. What is meant by, “When you love the people whom you meet, you are spreading the love of my Son”? The best way to sum this up is by what a Friend of Medjugorje wrote in 1991:

“…Individual conversions will bring about the conversion of the world…”1

How does this apply to Our Lady’s words? When we change, others see our change and are inspired for change themselves. This is not just talking to them about Our Lady’s words or the Gospel. We are to become those words. A few examples of how a Friend of Medjugorje has suggested we do this: accepting annoyances with patience, perhaps not nagging our husbands knowing they bear a heavy burden, talking to someone whom we do not like, doing daily chores with joy, being considerate of our employers’ time and money, buying coffee for a random person, leaving a large tip for a waitress at a resturaunt, etc. These things, these outward signs of our hearts changing, easing another’s burden are what will change someone’s heart, doing as Our Lady said, spreading the love of Her Son.
