Our Lady has shown that the whole world in being blessed. Our Lady said on November 15, 1981:

“The world is on the point of receiving great favors from me and my Son…”

Our Lady came, not just for the parish of Medjugorje, but for the whole world.

Thousands of pilgrims in Medjugorje August 2, 2019

Medjugorje, August 2, 2019 - Part of a river of thousands of people walk back after Our Lady’s apparition to Mirjana on August 2, 2019. A Friend of Medjugorje has stated for many years, posing the question, why have so many come to Medjugorje? The answer is that they come because of Our Lady.

Our Lady appeared in Medjugorje not just for the parish, but for the whole world. The world is receiving a great favor. Medjugorje visionary Jakov tells more:

I know that many are surprised because Our Lady has been coming for so long. Many ask, why? Many ask why Our Lady gives so many messages. Unfortunately, others say those messages are always the same. I always tell everybody, instead of rather asking why, we need to say another word and that is “thank you.” Thank the Lord for all the gifts He has given us. Thank the Lord that He allows Our Lady to be with us and to feel by ourselves, to open our hearts, so we shall understand why Our Lady comes. It is so simple. Our Lady comes for us. She didn’t come just for us six or for our parish. She came for the whole world.

- Medjugorje visionary Jakov
from Sometimes I Get Angry - Jakov Speaks - July 30, 2007

The world is being blessed, receiving great favors from Jesus and Our Lady. In these days, instead of questioning why, why not say instead, “thank you?” These days should be spent thanking God for having sent Our Lady. Reiterating the principle stated above from a Friend of Medjugorje, no individual, no parish, no church was responsible for bringing millions of people to Medjugorje. God is responsible, by sending Our Lady. We come because God calls all through Her. To those of us who come to Medjugorje, to those who wish to come, to those who are living the messages from their homes, may our prayer in these days be, “thank you”.
