Announcing A Friend of Medjugorje… in France
Having just completed the Latin American pilgrimage with Medjugorje visionary Marija, A Friend of Medjugorje continues to bring the messages of Our Lady to nations around the world and will be in France Thursday, November 17, through Saturday November 19.
France is a country dear to the heart of Caritas’ founder, A Friend of Medjugorje. So much significant history has taken place within its borders, so many saints buried in her soil, the eldest daughter of the Catholic Church—and without a doubt, France is close to the Heart of Our Lady with Her multiple visitations over the centuries including Paris, where the Miraculous Medal was given to St. Catherine Laboure, and Lourdes to St. Bernadette.
A Friend of Medjugorje was once asked amongst a crowd of pilgrims what his favorite book was, the book that had the greatest impact on his life outside of the Bible, Our Lady’s messages, on the works of Maria Valtorta, the Poem of the Man-God, of which Our Lady strongly recommended its reading in Her apparitions in Medjugorje. Without hesitation he said Joan of Arc by Mark Twain. He said this book opened his eyes to what Our Lady was doing in Medjugorje. Joan of Arc was prefigurement of Our Lady. Joan of Arc was a young girl who was raised up by God to save France at a point when France was down to just a few square blocks of land and was on the very verge of extinction. In this, our time, when the world has so degraded that it too is on the verge of extinction, God has sent the Virgin Mary to rescue the world from destruction. So much was A Friend of Medjugorje impacted by Joan of Arc’s resemblance to Our Lady that he made her one of his patron saints.
Over the years, Caritas’ founder has had several opportunities to visit France and speak on behalf of Our Lady of Medjugorje and Her messages. Those who have attended his talks have been touched by his love for France, his insights into France’s present condition and how he combines Our Lady’s words from Medjugorje with the spiritual richness of France’s history to shine forth hope into her future.

The Basilica of St. Martin in Tours, France
The Basilica of St. Martin of Tours, where the tomb of St. Martin rests. St. Martin was the 3rd bishop of Tours (A.D. 397), and was known for his austerity and humility, though he was a bishop. St. Martin would maintain his humble and plain appearance even as bishop, and was responsible for tearing down much pagan idol worship. Today, Our Lady of Medjugorje comes to the world, humble and plain in appearance to tear down the many idols with which we have adorned our world.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the place where Bishop Fulton Sheen would speak of in which adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has been held for over a century. Our Lady in Medjugorje tells us that She is present when the faithful are adoring. Many today, through the complications of daily living in a modern world adore things other than God. What Our Lady has shown A Friend of Medjugorje through prayer is a new way, a “new way in a new time”, that belongs to Our Lady. With the presence of Our Lady in the world through Her Medjugorje apparitions is a passing away of the old life, and the creation of a new way of life, with God the Creator, in a new time.
