Medjugorje Witness

Good afternoon to all of you. I am Bishop Joseph Charron from the Diocese of De Moines, Iowa in the United States and I’m here with a group of pilgrims from Iowa, from the Diocese of De Moines. My dear brother and sister pilgrims, I wish you many, many special blessings during your time in Medjugorje. May you receive special gifts from God that will help you to grow in your love of God, in your love of your neighbor and in the very love you have for yourself.

The community received a fax from our community members who are manning the Mission House in Medjugorje. In it, they told a beautiful story about a young seminarian they had met in the village. We wanted to share it with you, as it is a story full of hope, especially in how to view the crosses and sufferings that we all must carry in this time. We hope it gives you added strength and peace knowing there is a purpose behind all that God asks us to endure, as we are led deeper into the purifying fire of His love so to be formed into Apostles for Our Lady for the future evangelization of the world.

We hope to do more to bring the love of Our Lady to you. Through mej.com, we hope to give you more of the following. Below is a talk of the visionary Ivan in Medjugorje recently. The fresh words of the visionaries always refreshes the soul, brings renewal and strength to hearts. The life Our Lady desires is of peace and holiness. Read the following talk given May 25, 07 and go to Medjugorje.

June 7, 2007 was the Feast of Corpus Christi. Traditionally, in the Catholic Church, this feast day includes a procession of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the streets of the towns and cities of every parish church around the world. It brings the blessing of Christ to our streets, neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and homes. Sadly, this is one of the traditions that have gone to the wayside in today’s secular world. But not in Medjugorje.

If you read the messages of Our Lady, you will know that we are chosen, in this time, to be apostles, carriers of Mary’s messages to a world without faith. Persecuted for simply following “ a way ” of Our Lady, we are to remain faithful to our calling and finish the work God has given us to do. Though we may get battered, there is no storm that can uproot what God plants. When one is in friendship with God, no storm can destroy it.
